I becoming a Local, Not a Tourist

After a month of staying in hostels, visiting old friends, and making new ones throughout Egypt, Jordan, israel and Palestine, I arrived in Bethlehem. Originally intending to stay only one night with a Palestinian family, I ended up staying for four days and only wish I had had more time to sink into and be saturated by this beautiful, rich place. From the moment I was picked up at the bus station by my host, I truly felt at home, amongst friends and family.

Is it safe to visit Palestine? Absolutely NOT!

Be careful because Palestine is the most dangerous country you will ever visit. You will fall in love with it and eventually you will never want to leave! Palestine is truly a magical land in all seasons! Once you see it, touch it and taste it, you will fall deeper and deeper.

Palestine is a country with a complex and rich history spanning over a thousand years from Jesus’ era to modern times. Along with many impressive and significant sites, architectural structures, and villages, Palestine also boasts two important UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Imagine walking the old pilgrim route in Bethlehem and visiting the birthplace of Jesus or wandering in the beautiful terraces of Battir village, in our land of olives, vines and spectacular scenery. It will make you redefine your understanding of beauty. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
